Venue Search London’s Summer Event Survey predicts strong market for 2020

Venue Search London, the capital’s free venue-finding specialist, is gearing up to the London Summer Event Show, 21st and 22nd January, by unveiling the results of their 2019 London Summer Event Survey...

Indicating a buoyant market for summer internal parties and events, the survey highlights a positive outlook for London’s summer events market with 39% of respondents anticipating an increase in budget per guest and an impressive 78% of companies planning to stage a 2020 event (up from 66% in the previous survey.

Another key finding from the latest survey is that 65% of summer events now include a “business element”, whether it is a conference, internal awards or team-based activity. Extending a summer celebration or party with a daytime business element is a growing trend and creates a strong differentiator from the traditional Christmas party formats.

Stand out summer party venues in London are still the order of the day with destination restaurants or London landmarks being the locations of choice. This comes from guests’ desire for hotspots which provide the ultimate backdrop for social media as well as the need for brands to activate online. More informal catering styles continue to increase in popularity, with two in three events opting for a more informal catering style.
