Wagtail - Rooftop Bar & Restaurant
Nestled above the corporate streets of the city below and just a stones throw from Monument, (no seriously – the tube is below the building!) Wagtail Rooftop Bar and Restaurant is situated over two floors and is a relaxing oasis away from the bustle of London city. Featuring a restaurant with two private terraces, a covered rooftop bar, and an exclusive private dining room, this venue is complimented with impressive 360° views of some of London’s most iconic landmarks; The Shard, the Gherkin, and St Paul’s Cathedral to name a few. The décor is elegantly fresh with gentle forest greens, whites and pinks, with wooden flooring to create a real sense of tranquillity. This beautiful rooftop space is the perfect excuse to stay until the early hours with the late-night license and resident DJ evenings – what more could you want!
Aviary
The Aviary is an elegant rooftop bar and restaurant, secretly settled on the 10th floor of the Montcalm Royal London House Hotel, just off Finsbury Square. The leading restaurant and bar operator ETM Group have taken dining to a whole new level, with their first sky-high restaurant and terrace bar; serving up sensational seasonal dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A recent partnership with Whispering Angel has seen this gorgeous rooftop space transformed into a haven. Guests can enjoy a glass or two of the world famous rose and are transported from London, straight to the heart of Provence. This venue really is the ultimate spot to relax and unwind taking in those summer evening sunsets, all whilst sipping on the greatest Provence rosé and beautifully curated cocktails in the botanical themed rooftop space.
Aqua Nueva Regent's Street
Just a short walk from Oxford Circus, the stylish Aqua Nueva recently launched their summer terrace in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot. This beautifully designed space combines Regent Street glamour with traditionally inspired Spanish cuisine; all whilst offering beautiful views over London’s West End. The contemporary feel is bright yet warming, allowing guests to soak up those gorgeous summer evening views. Aqua Nueva offers tasty contemporary tapas, with an extensive wine list which will undoubtedly provide a relaxing setting in this delightful spot.
Vintry and Mercer
Boutique hotel Vintry & Mercer is nestled away in the heart of the City and features a delightful rooftop terrace that you probably didn’t even know was there. The Mercer Roof Terrace offers panoramic views over London’s skyline, allowing guests to take in the stunning scenery from above the bustling Covent Garden below. This space is a perfect example where past and present meet - the intertwining of beautiful traditions really comes to life with the contemporary style of the venue. The choice of décor is cleverly chosen to display the feeling where ‘old meets new’. Dine alfresco or enjoy drinks on one of the many lounge tables this incredible venue has to offer.
Savage Garden
Last, but most certainly not least, Savage Garden is a savagely chic cocktail bar sat on the 12th floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton in Tower Hill. This decadent rooftop bar boasts, (in my opinion) some of the best views of London’s most iconic skyscrapers and offers a variety of fantastic spaces; including two sky-high rooftop terraces, the main bar and a private dining room. Glamour radiates through the walls, with every piece of furniture dripping with elegance and style. It is worth mentioning the fantastic private events terrace ‘Wildside’. Currently sponsored by Monkey 47 gin, this space offers the luxury of bringing the outdoors inside with its retractable roof, should mother nature decide to call! If you want to be spoiled with a vibrant atmosphere, exquisite cocktails and food so impressive you’re left wanting more, then Savage Garden is the place that should be next on your list.
